GiaNina is a true 'Jersey Girl" in every way possible and the Asbury Park Press did a very nice feature on her journey to Broadway and what it means to be part of the magical cast of Matilda the Musical playing the role of Amanda Thripp.

Here are some snippets from the article and the link to read it in its entirety.

The 10-year-old from Oakhurst plays Amanda Thripp in the hit musical, a student who is memorably picked up and thrown by her pigtails by the evil headmistress Miss Trunchbull.

GiaNina is quick to single out that moment as her favorite in the show.

The actor is tight-lipped about the workings of her famous stunt, but she does have a secret to tell about Christopher Sieber, who displays a menacing, commanding manner onstage as Miss Trunchbull.

She recalls finding out she was cast in the car with her mom and brother. “I got the call from my agency that they were offering me Amanda Thripp,” she said. “I started crying and laughing. It was a lot of emotions at once.”

GiaNina says the seven-shows-a-week schedule wasn’t hard to adjust to. “It’s not that hard when you’re a kid, you have a lot of energy. Especially with you’re with friends and you’re dancing and doing what you love.”

The journey continues for GiaNina so Stay Tuned.
